Real Time Scan Repository (RTSR)

Gathering and centrally storing sales data in a timely and secure manor is critical for effectively managing in-store production and inventories.

ADC's Real-Time Scan Repository or RTSR Module enables POS data retrieval by transparently operating as a background process on the in-store POS controller/server or ISP. RTSR continuously monitors the POS transaction log, streaming new transaction data to the central repository over the TCP/IP intranet/WAN in near real time. The period and rate of data transfer are configurable to preserve bandwidth. Data is buffered locally whenever the intranet/WAN connection is down, and is updated by an auto-recovery when the connection is restored.

POS transaction data is automatically stored into a normalized set of tables on the central SQL Server or Oracle database. This centralized repository of data can be used to track perpetual inventory, determine shrink, analyze electronic coupon redemption and alert to potential out-of-stock/overstock events. The database can also be used for POS price verification with Web enabled hand held terminals and is shared with ADC's InterScale scales management, P-Cubed fresh item management and NutriGen recipe management systems. RTSR returns all POS transaction log details to the central repository, not just fresh or scaled items. The RTSR module includes XML export and flexible HTML/PDF reporting. This module is currently available for IBM 4690 POS, others on request.
