The world's first and leading self-contained, solid-state, multi-brand scales management web-server. Over 2,500 now installed.
iScales' are completely-unique,
self-configuring Internet appliances, so smart in their application that no
integration is necessary. No modifying of your existing network.
No installation to your existing In Store Processor. Just plug it in, let
it find its central 'mother ship' server, and it is serving your scales. It's
just simple. Completely simple.
All of the iScales' run ADC's industry proven, rock-solid InterScale Scale Server software. iScales' hardware reliability stems from its lack of moving parts: no hard drive, no cooling fan - entirely solid state.
Each of iScale's serial
ports is software selectable for protocol between RS232, RS485
half-duplex, RS485 full-duplex and RS422. In RS485 mode up to 32 scales can
be supported from each port. Selectable serial ports include full optical-isolation,
protecting your iScale investment from voltage spikes and storm induced surges.
Of course the iScale can also support any number and brand of Ethernet and
wi-fi scales alongside the serial scales.
Each iScale has a built-in PCMCIA slot for your favorite wireless card. IEEE 802.11b/g and Symbol Spread Spectrum cards supported.
An SDLC card is available for the iScale's internal PC104 bus that allows the iScale to be the T-Net server for up to 24 Toledo satellite scales. In this mode the iScale can replace the Master scale, so that the satellites are looking up and writing data directly on iScale's internal solid state SQL database. The capacity of this database is limited only by the size of the iScale's compact flash card, up to 1GB, so even your older satellite scales can support an unlimited amount of PLUs, ingredients text and nutri-fact records. Web-browse to the iScale to see a list of connected satellites with the status of each including details of the last PLU look-up. If you don't want to use iScale's internal SQL database, the iScale with SDLC card can be configured as a gateway between your T-Net satellite scales and a SQL Server or Oracle database running on your In Store Processor (ISP). If you don't want to replace your Master scale, the iScale can add a layer of resilience by quetly monitoring the T-Net to make sure the master scale is active, taking over when it goes down and automatically going into quiet monitor mode when a master re-appears.
Four-Port and Eight-Port versions of the iScale are available.
